'Designing the Society of the Future': World Expo 2025 has started in Osaka.

Japan's Osaka city, which previously hosted Expo 1970, is staging this fair for the second time.

The opening ceremony of World Expo 2025 took place on Saturday in Osaka, Japan. With the theme "Designing the Society of the Future for Our Lives," the event aims to promote unity through ideas about life, the world, and the future, and to depict the society of the future. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba expressed hope that the event would help restore global unity in a world grappling with conflicts and trade wars. Ishiba stated, "The world that has overcome the coronavirus pandemic is now under a series of threats of division." He added, "At such a time, it is extremely meaningful for people from all over the world to come together here to discuss the theme of life and to experience the latest technologies, different ideas, and cultures." Approximately 1,300 people attended the opening ceremony, including the Japanese emperor. Futuristic exhibitions will be showcased in dozens of areas with unique designs. Throughout the fair, around 180 countries, regions, and organizations will be hosted in the city. Osaka had achieved great success at the first fair held in 1970, hosting 64 million visitors and holding the record until the 2010 Shanghai Expo. World Expos are massive international events where countries from around the world come together to showcase innovations, culture, technology, and ideas for the future. Each participating country builds its own pavilion focused on the theme of the expo.
