Hours after the attack on the hospital, a separate attack in Deir al-Balah resulted in the deaths of at least seven people, according to a local morgue. These attacks occurred hours after the Israeli Defense Minister stated that military operations would rapidly expand in Gaza and that civilians needed to be evacuated from "conflict zones." Israel also announced on Saturday that the Morag corridor, which separates the city of Rafah in the south from the rest of Gaza, had been completed and indicated that the army would soon expand "strongly" across most of the small coastal area.
